Get Ready for Otakon 2009!A note from the Con-Chair: Welcome Everyone!!! So now we are about 2 months from Otakon and things are really picking up steam. In just the last 2 weeks we've announced 2 guests, and opened and closed the Artist Alley registration. The dealer's room is filling up, and several of our other events from Otaku Idol to Masquerade are starting to come together. Of course we still have more planned that I can't talk about yet, for example additional guest contracts have been signed and we're working out announcement details. So look for some guess the guest contests coming up. Also our video and panels programming is starting to be sorted together, which admittedly is a long and complex process, so hints about what could be premiering at Otakon should be coming out soon. All of that in mind, pre-registration cut-offs are creeping up on us, and will be here sooner than you might think. So want to be sure you are pre-registered for Otakon don't put it off much longer. Remember you all are part of what makes Otakon great and keeps "For Fans, By Fans" one of the best ways to put together an event that everyone can enjoy! See you all at Otakon 2009! Matt Smiechowski About OtakonOtakon is the convention of the otaku generation: by fans, for fans; and we're back for our 16th year! Join thousands of your fellow fans as we descend on Baltimore to celebrate all anime, manga, and all facets of Asian pop culture! Ever since 1999, we've taken over a sizable chunk of Baltimore's Inner Harbor for a 3-day festival celebrating the pop culture that's brought us everything from Astroboy to Yu-Gi-Oh, from the Seven Samurai to Spirited Away. We can't wait to see you there!
