Ever want a figurine of your cosplay self? For our 20th anniversary Otakon has teamed up with ShapeShot (www.shapeshot.com) to be the first anime convention to provide full body, full color 6" 3D prints of you in your cosplay outfit. This weekend only for the discounted price of $250 (normally $300). Want just a face scan? Otakon and ShapeShot are also offering the only fully automated 3D face imaging booth for a discounted price of $5 (normally $10). Take this scan and choose from ShapeShot's huge array of printed items or purchase the digital model yourself and go wild. Stop by the Otakon Photo Suite for more information.
PhotoSuite hours are:
10 am - 8 pm Friday and Saturday
10 am - 3 pm Sunday, photoshoots stop at noon on Sunday.
Q: Wait, what?
A: You got it, we are offering honest to goodness 3D prints of you. Hold in your hand, pose with your gerbil, physical 3D prints!
Q: What are you going to do with my scan after you make my print?
A:The Otakon Photo Suite has always been very concerned about our members privacy. Our policy has been, and always will be, we do not sell a print to anyone not pictured in the photo (or their legal parent/guardian). We have sometimes in the past posted costumes we really like to the website or the program guide but only if you give us that permission when you take the photo. The same applies to the 3D scans so you can rest assured that you control the fate of your likeness.
Q: How long does this take?
A: No spinning, no lasers, no standing still for 20 minutes. One shot and your done! Same as a photo. In fact, the 2D photo sessions actually last longer.
Q: When will I get my print?
A: 6-8 weeks after the con. Perfection takes time. Shipping and handling is $25.
Q: I love this but I didn't have time to save up money! What do I do?
A: You can purchase a pre-process 3D scan right now for $25 and then contact us after the con to purchase the full print!
Q: How does it look?
A: See below for an "original" image and a render of the scan. A picture of the final item will be posted shortly.
