Hello and welcome to the Hall Costume Contest! Please read through the rules as many things have changed since last year!
The Hall Costume Contest is a contest that deals specifically with the quality and workmanship of the costume itself. There is no performance element – it is a quiet scheduled judging session where you speak to the judges and tell them about the details of your work.
Awards are presented following the Masquerade Saturday Night, and you will also have the option of showing off your costume in a catwalk on stage.
Contestants ARE permitted to compete in both Hall Costume Contest and Masquerade!! Hall Costume Contest will judge craftsmanship for any interested Masquerade performers. It is recommended that Masquerade participants register for a Friday judging time at Hall Costume Contest to avoid scheduling conflicts. There will be a very limited number of Saturday judging times between 2 pm and 3 pm reserved for Masquerade contestants, but these will fill up quickly.
Applications open 12:01 am ET July 1st and close 4:59 pm ET July 5th

Eric Rega is a Philadelphia-based costumer with over 20 years of sewing experience. He has a BFA in Textiles from University of the Arts. His work focuses on making even fantastical garments as “real” as possible through both material choice and technique, and he takes every costume as an opportunity to learn a new process–from beading to shoe-making to tailoring. Outside of cosplay, Eric also maintains a fine-art practice including printmaking, textiles and photography.
Appledress is an award-winning craftsmanship cosplayer who has been sewing since childhood and cosplaying since 2012. A jack-of-all-trades, Appledress loves using a variety of skills in her builds, including pattern drafting, 3d modeling and printing, machine and hand embroidery, molding/casting, and anything else that seems fun at the moment. Outside of cosplay, Appledress is found watching vtubers and knitting socks.
Faeliae is an award-winning cosplayer and maker from the Pacific Northwest with a passion for nine-tailed foxes and Hatsune Miku! She has been cosplaying since 2017 and competing since 2022. Faeliae strives to combine realism with accuracy in her builds, and she loves adding fun aesthetic details! She believes in fostering community through positivity, encouragement, and sharing knowledge!
